Two years ago, as four college students and I drove through the country roads of Indiana, a global idea was born. It’s a concept that could touch the lives of thousands, and may even affect you.

It came at the end of a rich weekend of getting to enjoy time with students at Indiana University (IU) who had been on the WDW Summer Project in previous years. I got to share at the weekly meeting of the Campus Crusade movement at IU, but the highlight of my time was hearing how God was mightily working in the lives of many of the Summer Project students, who had now become good friends. And in many of our conversations there was a consistent thread: each of them still held an eagerness to play a part in what God was doing at WDW.

This evident desire prompted me to ask a question as they drove me back to the airport to close out the weekend. “So guys, how can we be working together in the coming months and years to see this new year-round ministry at WDW?”

Nick, Nick, Jeff, and Billy started by throwing around the more common ideas of praying for the people and events that God was shaping at WDW, and staying in touch with the latest updates. But then their ideas grew.

“The hard part is we can’t be down there. But the more you can open up the planning and work at WDW to others, the better. What if you took the idea of the Forty Fighters Prayer Team [made up of people around the country praying for WDW] and expanded it on all fronts. There are many people who can’t move to Orlando but want to play a part in what God is doing there.”

It was an incredibly simple idea, but one with profound implications. And after two years of development, the idea is now a reality. We call it the Global Team.

We believe the ideas, talents, and creativity for God’s work at WDW are found across the globe. The Global Team provides a simple online infrastructure to bring together people and empower them to play a critical role in God’s work at WDW.

On a volunteer basis, Global Team members choose simple or elaborate projects with which they want to take part. It could be a brainstorming ideas, chatting with students, or researching the culture of another country, all from home. They decide what they want to do based on their time and the unique gifting God has given them.

Our hope is that the Global Team will multiply the fruit we see at WDW through engaging more people to take part. Maybe you want to join! Check out more under the Global Team section.

We are praying for gospel-centered communities to begin throughout WDW. One place we have seen God building a movement is within one of the WDW resorts. A group of African interns began “Holy Tuesdays”, a community for WDW interns to gather to worship, study the Bible, and live life together. It has been incredible to see this group grow and community blossom because of the gospel. This is what Charles, one of the leaders from Zimbabwe, says about Holy Tuesdays: “This has been life changing, in as much as we all know who God is, coming together every Tuesday night has brought a lot to feeding. The Word of God indeed [is] useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”

While the origination of pizza is credited to the Italians, its taste and originality quickly began to spread throughout the world causing many cultures to adopt this new form of cuisine. The average American eats 750 slices of pizza per year. While that number may seem far-fetched, I am afraid that my average pizza slice count will increase over the course of this year.

Each Thursday night, we make homemade pizzas as an opportunity to draw Disney interns from all cultures together for an evening of fun and delicious food. Over the past month, we have had a slow start, but more interns have joined us in this experience. Americans, Moroccans, Chinese, Japanese, South Africans, Australians, Germans, and New Zealanders have all been a part of our Thursday nights. It’s been a great way to connect with Disney interns outside of work.

As we enjoy pizza and playing the Wii, we have seen God use this night as an opportunity to engage in spiritual conversations. It is evident that ministry can happen whenever we are willing to engage. It often seems unnatural and scary, but I have been learning that talking about God is natural. Everyone has a need for God, but many don’t recognize their need for Him. It’s our job, as Believers, to step out in faith by the leading of the Spirit and engage. It’s God who is going to do the life-change, so the pressure is off of us. We are to be obedient and let Him do the work.

Last night was one of my exelent moments in my life… thank you friend..:)

It might seem like a crypted note, but it was the text message I received from Samir the day after our Halloween party. The next day, we saw Samir at work in Epcot and he shared even more.

“I do not have the words to express how I felt last night. As soon as I walked into your apartment I knew I was glad I was there. I really liked the trick-or-treating and the questions you asked in the group discussion. It was one of the best moments of my life.”

There were almost 30 interns at the Halloween party last week. They came from the US, Morocco, China, South Africa, Zimbabwe, France, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand. There were pumpkins being carved on the patio, “trunk-or-treating in the parking lot, and lots of food. But the best part was getting to break into smaller groups to discuss ghosts, the Bible, and then Jesus. Everyone not only got to clearly hear the gospel, but also to discuss where they are at in their spiritual journey. The interns loved the discussion, and another doorway has now opened for friendship and continuing to journey toward life found more fully in Jesus.
